Botanical Art Worldwide


Italy too has joined Botanical Art Worldwide – Linking people to plants through botanical art; a project initiated by the American Society of Botanical Artists.


On the Worldwide Day of Botanical Art - Friday May 18, 2018 - in the Botanic Garden of Padova opens the exhibition, which mark, for Italy, the end point of the Botanical Art Worldwide.

A Flourishing Heritage - Portraits of Italian Flora is the name given to the exhibition, organized in collaboration with Floraviva and dedicated to the flora of the Italian landscape.

67 artworks were admitted, evaluated by a Jury of Experts, composed of Prof. Barbara Baldan, Director of the Padua Botanic Garden, Prof. Fabio Garbari, former President of the Italian Botanical Society, and Prof. Lucia Tomasi Tongiorgi, Art Historian of the University of Pisa.

The exhibition will run from 18 May – 18 June and is included in the entrance fee to the Garden. The opening ceremony will be held Friday May 18, at 11.30 a.m. and  is to open to the public.
